What is Azerbaijan e-Visa?

The Azerbaijan e-Visa is an electronic visa that allows foreign travelers to enter Azerbaijan for tourism, business, or other short-term purposes. This digital authorization simplifies the visa application process, enabling visitors to apply online without visiting an embassy or consulate.

The e-Visa system, also known as the ASAN Visa, was introduced in 2017 to streamline visa applications and expedite border control at Azerbaijan's main entry points. It is issued electronically by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and provides a convenient alternative to traditional visa applications.

Important Information

Validity Period

The Azerbaijan e-Visa is valid for 90 days from the date of issue and allows for a single entry into the country. Travelers can stay for a maximum of 30 days during their visit.

It's important to note that the e-Visa cannot be extended once issued. If travelers wish to stay longer than 30 days, they must leave Azerbaijan and apply for a new visa.

The e-Visa must be used within the 90-day validity period. If not used within this timeframe, it becomes invalid and a new application must be submitted.

Registration Requirements

Foreign visitors staying in Azerbaijan for more than 15 days must register their temporary residence with the State Migration Service within 15 days of arrival.

Registration is free of charge and can be done online through the migration portal or by visiting regional migration departments directly.

Hotels and other accommodation providers typically handle registration automatically for their guests, but travelers should confirm this with their accommodation.

Failure to register when required may result in administrative penalties and complications when leaving the country.
